About Gate 55
Gate 55 is a community centre in a former Primary School - the building is owned by City of Edinburgh Council - managed by a committee of local volunteers. We are located in Sighthill, in the West of Edinburgh. We offer a variety of programs, activities and services for people of all ages and are also home to the Sighthill Library. Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming space for everyone to come together and connect with their community.

At Gate 55, we are committed to running a community centre that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering. Our mission is to provide a wide range of programmes and activities that meet the needs of local residents, and promote both physical and mental health and wellbeing.


Our Vision
Our vision is to serve our vibrant and resilient community so that it stays connected, engaged, and thriving. We believe that by providing a welcoming and supportive space, we can help people of all ages and backgrounds to pursue their goals, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive impact here and elswhere.

We provide space to many groups and services running activities here.

We also offer room hire, including for children's parties.
